Suitable for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

Two classes on offer:

5-5:30pm Sensory Movement, suitable for children who love exploring sensory props but are still developing the ability to follow instructions. These children may be new to following instructions or have more severe/ complex needs. Suggested age 3+

5:30-6.10pm Creative Dance, suitable for children who are able to follow instructions (most of the time) to learn a simple dance routine. Suggested age 6+

Classes are Makaton friendly.

Description

Inclusive dance classes in Beech, Alton.

Dance classes for children (3+yrs) with additional needs.

Our classes use scarves, foil blankets, cardboard boxes and more, alongside creative movement and our imaginations to explore weekly themes. You will develop problem solving skills while enjoying expressing yourself in a new way.

Creative dance classes help you to come out of your shell. You’ll blossom through dance classes, even if you are very shy.

  • Practice social / communication skills and make friends

Classes include small group activities, so that you practice listening, turn taking and working as a team, even if you have communication difficulties.

  • Learn the fundamentals of dance and keep active

You will turn, clap and travel your way through classes. Learning new movement. You will develop body awareness, mobility and  co-ordination, while having tons of fun!

  • Leave class feeling calmer

Classes finish with a relaxing cool down, helping you to feel calmer after channelling your energy into dancing.
